The style of new properties being built on the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida has changed quite a lot in recent years. In years gone by many foriegn buyers were looking for the "typical Spanish design" with terracota roof tyles and white washed walls, and so that is what most constructors built.
Move on to 2017 and the majority of new villas and apartments have a futuristic, minimilist style which reflects the changing market. With many of the new buyers coming from Norway and Sweden the influence of modern design and architecture is obvious to see.
The quality of the building has improved to an extremely high standard now, with many of the new properties being sold with luxuries such as under floor heating, integrated air-conditioning and smart home technology included in the price.
